A week ago the minority federal government of Canada, and Industry Minister Jim Prentice, tabled an amendment to the Copyright Act. Entitled Bill C-61, its purpose is to bring Canadian copyright law into compliance with the current WIPO treaty (this despite their being no international legal obligation to implement WIPO - it hasn’t been ratified by Canada). Tuesday and I'm really bummed because I thought it was Wednesday for some reason. I really went through the day thinking, "Hump day. Weekend's almost here." And when I sat down at the computer to write I noticed stuff saying it was Tuesday online and thought, "Huh?" I was so hopeful until reality sunk in!
